It’s been hard thinking what to share and write. There are so many stories I been experiencing and things God is teaching me.

I can talk about how Banks & I vigil all night with a demon possessed man L who we wanted to take to rehab the next day. But L was awake most of the night and manifested at 3:30am. Which was a super tough battle. But glory to God we were able to take him to rehab even though he was shaking and throwing up. Second guy our group takes to rehab. Glory to God!

I can also mention about canceling our ministry on Monday due to tropical storm Julia but our ministry host still found a way to keep serving the community. We open doors for those that needed help and fed them and gave them blankets but thank God Sumpango was not affected deeply by the storm.

I can also talk about our ministry in Santa Marta with the kids. And how God is blessing those days and kids are learning.

But I would like to talk about a post one of my squad members posted that has kept me thinking:

This past Wednesday we had an interesting experience in the Kingdom’s Table. Apart from calming one guy down who wanted to fight someone, we had a different experience. Before our ministry started there was an anointing sister that I never seen in Sumpango preaching. Yes she was preaching Jesus but in a condemning way. Some of the alcoholics that we have been working with for weeks (Reindom for months) usually sit around the park waiting for our ministry to start but two of them were standing up to her and cursing her out because she was showing no love nor grace. Instead she was screaming at them and condemning them which cause them anger. I went up to one of them and hug him and told him to calm down. This guy knows the bible and told me Jesus never spoke like that, he never scream instead he sat and ate with those that needed help. 

When we open the doors for the homeless, addicts, or anybody to join us, Banks & I carry one guy who was the father of the first guy E that was set free and taken to rehab. He didn’t know where his son was but once we told him, he said he felt a relief and peace. In the Kingdom Table we worship the Lord. Then Oscar (a street preacher that we met on our Ask The Lord day) came to share his testimony and preached the gospel to them. 

The day before talking to Oscar he asked the team but an individual question after talking about Jesus making his disciples fishermans: “what is your bait?” Which made me think what is my bait? With Reindom our bait to talk to the alcoholics or anybody is food. My bait is compassion and love (I think, well I hope). Oscar is a true example of showing true love to addicts and people in the street because he sits with them and hugs them and eats with them meanwhile people going to church who are well dressed and have their bibles ignore them. God was teaching me through Oscar unconditional love for homeless, addicts, alcoholics since most people just walk over them and ignore them.

God was teaching me so much that day. That I should not look at nobody with condeming eyes. Also to be careful and be wisely with my words. God was teaching me that is not only about preaching and praying for them but about acting with patience, love, and compassion. True story: No matter if one of them stole the phone of one our teammates when we were helping him (we recover the phone) but we have to continue loving on them (ofcourse wisely).

One of the ways Reindom ministry shows love on these people is by feeding them. That day before the Ministry started I spent some time with 8-9 guys that stink and smell like alcohol. I sat next to them and gave them juice since they were thirsty, learn their names & stories, shook their hands, and some I even hug.

Jesus is teaching me, nobody wants to touch these guys but He puts in my heart to go and hug them. Thats the way I am showing them Jesus’ love. That they are love and seen. Jesus didn’t care who was in front of Him, yes His miracles were differently but He touch many of those people who were consider unclean that nobody would ever dream of touching. So the Lord wants to me to be around these guys who society has forgotten or don’t even bother to notice. But they do noticed. Most of them want to stop drinking and change. They tell Reindom and my teammates: God bless you, thank you for noticing us, thank you for the food, thank you.

Olivia one of teammates mention in our Bible study “love is the biggest gift.” And she is right. God has been teaching that love is greater than any other gift because when you love, your gifts are going to be use for the blessing of others but if you don’t have love, your gifts are going to be misused.

1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

I always love people but now God is allowing me to act it out and He is teaching me to love unconditional, no matter what.

Matthew 25: 34-40 Jesus words

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ 

‘Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 

‘And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”

Ha sido difícil pensar qué compartir y escribir. Hay tantas historias que he estado experimentando y cosas que Dios me está enseñando.

Puedo hablar sobre cómo Banks y yo velamos toda la noche con un hombre L poseído por un demonio a quien queríamos llevar a rehabilitación al día siguiente. Pero L estuvo despierto la mayor parte de la noche y se manifestó a las 3:30 am. Lo cual fue una fuerte batalla. Pero gloria a Dios pudimos llevarlo a rehabilitación a pesar de que estaba temblando y vomitando. El segundo chico que lleva nuestro grupo a rehabilitación. Gloria a Dios!

También puedo mencionar la cancelación de nuestro ministerio el lunes debido a la tormenta tropical Julia, pero nuestro hospedador del ministerio encontró la manera de seguir sirviendo a la comunidad. Abrimos puertas para aquellos que necesitaban ayuda y les dimos comida y cobijas pero gracias a Dios Sumpango no fue afectado profundamente por la tormenta.

También puedo hablar de nuestro ministerio en Santa Marta con los niños. Y cómo Dios está bendiciendo esos días y los niños están aprendiendo.

Pero me gustaría hablar sobre unas palabras que publicó uno de los miembros de mi escuadron que me ha dejado pensando:

“Compartir a Jesús con la gente no siempre es ponerse de pie y predicar, muchas veces se expresa mejor en la forma en como amamos a los demás” Mikahla

El pasado miércoles tuvimos una interesante experiencia en la Mesa del Reino. Además de calmar a un tipo que quería pelear con alguien, tuvimos una experiencia diferente. Antes de que comenzara nuestro ministerio, había una hermana ungida que nunca había visto predicando en Sumpango. Sí, ella estaba predicando a Jesús, pero de una manera condenatoria. Algunos de los alcohólicos con los que hemos estado trabajando durante semanas (Reindom durante meses) generalmente se sientan en el parque esperando que comience nuestro ministerio, pero dos de ellos se enfrentaron a ella y le decian cosas porque no mostraba amor ni gracia. Ella les gritaba y los condenaba, lo que les causaba ira. Me acerqué a uno de ellos, lo abracé y le dije que se calmara. Este tipo conoce la Biblia y me dijo que Jesús nunca hablo así, nunca grito, sino que se sentaba y comía con los que necesitaban ayuda.

Cuando abrimos las puertas para las personas sin hogar, los adictos o cualquiera, Banks y yo llevamos a un señor que es el padre del primer tipo E que fue libre y esta en rehabilitación. No sabía dónde estaba su hijo, pero una vez que se lo dijimos, dijo que sintió un alivio y una paz. En la Mesa del Reino adoramos al Señor. Entonces Oscar (un predicador de las calles que conocimos en nuestro dia de Preguntale a Dios) vino a compartir su testimonio y les predicó el evangelio.

El día antes hablando con Oscar, nos preguntó al equipo una pregunta individual después de hablar de Jesús haciendo pescadores de hombres a sus discípulos: “¿cuál es su carnada?” Lo que me hizo pensar cuál es mi carnada? Con Reindom nuestra carnada para hablar con los alcohólicos o cualquiera es la comida. Mi carnada es la compasión y el amor (creo, bueno espero). Oscar es un verdadero ejemplo de amor verdadero a los adictos y la gente de la calle porque se sienta con ellos y los abraza y come con ellos mientras la gente que va a la iglesia bien vestida y con sus biblias los ignoran. Dios me estaba enseñando a través de Oscar el amor incondicional por las personas sin hogar, los adictos y los alcohólicos, ya que la mayoría de las personas simplemente pasan por alto y los ignoran.

Dios me estaba enseñando mucho ese día. Que no debo mirar a nadie con ojos condenatorios. También a tener cuidado y ser prudente con mis palabras. Dios me estaba enseñando que no se trata solo de predicar y orar por ellos, sino de actuar con paciencia, amor y compasión. Historia real: no importa si uno de ellos robó el teléfono de una de nuestras compañeras de equipo cuando lo estábamos ayudando (recuperamos el teléfono), pero tenemos que seguir amándolos (por supuesto, sabiamente).

Una de las formas en que el ministerio Reindom muestra amor a estas personas es alimentándolos. Ese día antes de que comenzara el Ministerio pasé un tiempo con 8-9 tipos que apestaban y olían a alcohol.  Me senté junto a ellos y les di jugo ya que tenían sed, aprendí sus nombres e historias, les di la mano y a algunos incluso los abracé.

Jesús me está enseñando, nadie quiere tocar a estos muchachos pero Él pone en mi corazón ir y abrazarlos. Así les estoy mostrando el amor de Jesús. Que son amados y vistos. A Jesús no le importo quién estaba frente a Él, sí, sus milagros eran diferentes, pero tocó a muchas de esas personas que se consideraban inmundas que nadie jamás soñaría con tocar. Entonces, Dios quiere que esté cerca de estos tipos que la sociedad ha olvidado o que ni siquiera se molestan en notar. Pero ellos se dan cuenta. La mayoría quieren dejar de beber y cambiar, decin a Reindom y a mis compañeros de equipo: Dios los bendiga, gracias por fijarse en nosotros, gracias por la comida, gracias.

Olivia, una de las compañeras de equipo, menciono en nuestro estudio bíblico que “el amor es el don más grande”. Y ella tiene razón. Dios me ha estado enseñando que el amor es más grande que cualquier otro don porque cuando amas, tus dones se utilizarán para la bendición de los demás, pero si no tienes amor, tus dones serán mal utilizados.  

1 Corintios 13:13 “Y ahora permanecen la fe, la esperanza y el amor, estos tres; pero el mayor de ellos es el amor.”

Siempre eh amado a las personas, pero ahora Dios me permite actuar y me está enseñando a amar incondicionalmente.

Mateo 25:34-40 Palabras de Jesus

“Entonces el Rey dirá a los de su derecha: Venid, benditos de mi Padre, heredad el reino preparado para vosotros desde la fundación del mundo. Porque tuve hambre, y me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y me disteis de beber; fui forastero, y me recogisteis; estuve desnudo, y me cubristeis; enfermo, y me visitasteis; en la cárcel, y vinisteis a mí.’

‘Entonces los justos le responderán diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, y te sustentamos, o sediento, y te dimos de beber? Y cuándo te vimos forastero, y te recogimos, o desnudo, y te cubrimos? O cuándo te vimos enfermo, o en la cárcel, y vinimos a ti?‘
