Chiang Mai

So we are in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The Lord has allowed us to enjoy our time here. The first few days we rested and then it got busy since several parents came to visit their children and they serve with their children for five days. Then we had our debrief with our whole squad and preparing to what the Lord has in this country but also what He has after we finish our trip.

Chiang Mai is beautiful. It is super hot, so we are always sweating. But the people are really friendly and welcoming. I noticed that giving them food, it opens their heart. Also, when we prayed for them it shocks them since nobody really prays for each other.

Red District

We are staying super close to the red district. The red disctrict is the enemy territory, especially in the night. All the bars, massage, shops, drugs store are open. Sadly in the bars and the streets are full of ladies selling themselves. But the Lord has called me and my team to pray and intercede for that place. We believe in the power of prayer. The Lord has allowed us to make connections with several women and men. Some women work in the bars or massage parlors, some men are homeless and beggars. The Lord has allowed us to speak the name of Jesus and pray for few of them.

If my teammates start talking to someone, I just intercede and pray for the conversation and for the Holy Spirit to touch their hearts. God has been teaching me the power in interceding and praying. And I been praying while watching my team speak and evangelize others. Also, I spoken and became close to one lady who owns a bar. And little by little I am pouring life into her and talking to her about Jesus. Also, become really close with a homeless guy who we feed once in awhile and that has open his heart and even tells us God bless you when we blessed him.

Tawsaeng

My team is helping and working with a ministry called Tawsaeng. Tawsaeng is a ministry that helps children prepare them for university and teach them english, the bible, about Jesus, and lifeskills. The program is to prevent the kids from going into drugs, alcohol, prostitution, bars, etc. Also, the building next to them who is connected with them go around the bars in the Red District to save women from working in prostitution and in the bars.

Half of the kids are believers in Jesus and other half believe in something else but parents want their children to learn english and a lifeskill and its okay if they learn about Jesus and the bible. Now Mondays, Tuesday, and Wednesday we work with kids from 10-14 years old. And Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays we work with kids 14- university. Now this program is life changing. One girl who is 21 years old and comes from a Buddhist family was telling me how she accepted Jesus a year ago but has been with the program for many years. So this program is changing them; not only in learning but also spiritually.

It is an honor to work with this fun organization. The first week was observing and getting to know them and playing games with them. But soon we will be teaching them English, water color, and I might even teach them Spanish. We also make creative games to make them practice their English and just have fun with them.

Así que estamos en Chiang Mai, Tailandia. Dios nos ha permitido disfrutar nuestro tiempo aquí. Los primeros días descansamos y luego estuvimos occupados ya que varios padres vinieron a visitar a sus hijos y a servir con sus hijos durante cinco días. Luego tuvimos nuestro informe con todo nuestro equipo y nos preparamos para lo que Dios tiene en este país, pero también para lo que Él tiene después de que terminemos nuestro viaje.

Chiang Mai es hermoso. Hace mucho calor, así que siempre estamos sudando. Pero la gente es muy amable. Me di cuenta de que darles comida les abre el corazón. Además, cuando oramos por ellos, se sorprenden porque nadie realmente ora el uno por el otro.

Distrito Rojo

Nos estamos quedando súper cerca del distrito rojo. El distrito rojo es un territorio que el pertenece al enemigo, especialmente en la noche. Todos los bares, masajes, tiendas, drogas, lugares están abiertos. Tristemente en los bares y las calles están llenas de mujeres que se venden. Pero Dios me ha llamado a mí ya mi equipo a orar e interceder por ese lugar. Creemos en el poder de la oración. Dios nos ha permitido hacer conexiones con varias mujeres y hombres. Algunas mujeres trabajan en bares o salones de masajes, algunos hombres son desamparados y mendigos. Dios nos ha permitido hablar el nombre de Jesús y orar por algunos de ellos.

Si mis compañeros de equipo comienzan a hablar con alguien, simplemente intercedo y oro para que la conversación y el Espíritu Santo toque sus corazones. Dios me ha estado enseñando el poder de interceder y orar. Y he estado orando mientras veo a mi equipo hablar y evangelizar a otros. Además, he hablado y me hice cercano con una mujer que es dueña de un bar. Y poco a poco voy hablándole de Jesús. Además, me hice muy cercano con desamparado al que alimentamos de vez en cuando y que ha abierto su corazón e incluso nos dice que Dios nos bendiga cuando le damos comida.

Tawsaeng

Mi equipo está ayudando y trabajando con un ministerio llamado Tawsaeng. Tawsaeng es un ministerio que ayuda a los niños a prepararse para la universidad y les enseña inglés, la Biblia, acerca de Jesús y habilidades para la vida. El programa es para evitar que los niños entren en drogas, alcohol, prostitución, bares, etc. Además, el edificio de al lado que está conectado con ellos evangelizan en los bares del Distrito Rojo para evitar que las mujeres trabajen en la prostitución y en el bares.

La mitad de los niños creen en Jesús y la otra mitad cree en otra cosa, pero los padres quieren que sus hijos aprendan inglés y habilidades para la vida, y está bien si aprenden sobre Jesús y la Biblia. Ahora los lunes, martes y miércoles trabajamos con niños de 10 a 14 años. Y miércoles, jueves y viernes trabajamos con chicos de 14 años a universitarios. Ahora este programa está cambiando las vidas. Una chica que tiene 21 años y viene de una familia budista me estaba contando cómo aceptó a Jesús hace un año pero ha estado en el programa por muchos años. Así que este programa está cambiando no solo en el aprendizaje sino también espiritualmente.

Es un honor trabajar con esta divertida organización. La primera semana fue observarlos, conocerlos y jugar con ellos. Pero pronto estaremos enseñándoles inglés, historias de la biblia, y quizás yo les enseñe español. También hacemos juegos creativos para que practiquen su inglés y simplemente se diviertan con ellos.
