Albania

I know its been awhile since I posted something. The change of the blog has been difficult. But let me share the experience I have had in Albania.

Like I mention in my last blog, coming to Albania we change teams. My new team is called Daddy Day Care (DDC) and the reason is because we are all guys. So in Albania we have four teams in different cities. Three teams are all girls team and DDC is the all boys team from the squad. So is been so different being in all boys team.

When we arrived to Albania, the bus that pick us up in Romania, drop us off in Tirana (the capital of Albania). It was raining and with our heavy backpacks and all our stuff we walk to the place where we stayed for 3 days. Now all the other teams join a ministry to work, serve, and support. But our ministry cancel on us so we been ATL (Ask The Lord). The Lord let us to a city called Vlore.

Tirana

Now in Tirana, one day my team was walking to a resturant but there was detour so we went through an alley. When we walked through there this older guy started talking to us but we really didn’t understand but I stayed behind trying to understand him and have a conversation with him. The guy was trying to offer us beer since a bar was in front of us. He spoke English so we shared the gospel and Jesus with him. The men end up accepting Jesus and we prayed for him.

Vlore

The Lord let us to the city Vlore where my team DDC spent five weeks. We found a baptist church which we attended every service and also helped construction at a evangelical church where we met the president of all the evangelical churches in Albania and we put him in contact with our organization since he had lost contact.

During my time in Vlore the Lord put in my heart to go to a park were a lot of elder people hang out and play dominoes. I went to that park everyday and pray. Sometimes some of the men would come up to me and asked me questions. Many times I use google translate since they didn’t speak English. Every time I asked them if they spoke English or Español (Spanish) they would think I was from Spain. But people have confuse me thinking I am Syrian, or Pakistani, or Bangladesh, or Indian.

But I was able to share my purpose of being in Albania. During my time in the park I became good friends with a man who spoke the best English in the park. Every day at the park he would sit next to me and we would talk. We also went out for coffee. Everyday little by little I explain the gospel to him. He had a mormon bible and gave it to me and I gave him a Holy Bible in Albanian. And he was so excited for his new bible. In our last week in Vlore this man gave his heart to Jesus. I also showed him where the location of a Baptist church that my team attended.

I had so many conversations with people and explain our purpose and talk about why I believe in Jesus. I spoke to several muslims and they listen. I even gave a muslim a booklet with the gospel of John and epistle of Romans. We also spoke life into one man from Utah who was in Vlore. This man has tried every religion and spiritual activity but he keeps coming back to the Bible and Jesus but his mind doesn’t understand. With my teammates Banks and Elijah we were able to pour life and truth into him. We praying the Lord opens his eyes and sets him free.

My other teammates Michael, Jaden, and Jakson had several meeting with mormons and spoke truth from scriptures. They put pebbles in their shoes.

Tirana

Back in Tirana I was able to speak to a muslim girl. I was talking about my testimony and experiences and how I seen the power that the name of Jesus has. She listen really attentive and asked questions. I left her the pebble that there is power in the name of Jesus.

Elijah and I went to dinner one evening and we met some muslims guys and we spoke over 2 hours and half about religion, Bible, Quran, Jesus, Muhammed, Abraham, etc. It was one of the best conversations I have ever had. But I realized that I need to learn more about their beliefs to be able to evangelize them. Muslims do believe in Jesus but not as God but a prophet.

We evangelize the streets, preaching and praying for the poor. Also, anybody who would talk to us whether one person or groups we preached to them and explain our purpose. We also gave a Bible to a muslim guy who stood on his faith, but I was able to ask questions about why the Quran mentions the Torah and Gospels. Though my teammate Banks connected and had good conversation with him.

The Lord has taught me so much in my time in Albania. But our time has come to an end.

Albania

Sé que ha pasado un tiempo desde que publiqué algo. El cambio de blog ha sido difícil. Pero permítanme compartir la experiencia que he tenido en Albania.

Como mencioné en mi último blog, viniendo a Albania cambiamos de equipo.  Mi nuevo equipo se llama Daddy Day Care (DDC) y la razón es que todos somos varones. Así que en Albania tenemos cuatro equipos en diferentes ciudades. Tres equipos son de mujeres y DDC es el equipo de varones. A sido muy diferente estar en un equipo de solo varones.

Cuando llegamos a Albania, el autobús que montamos en Rumania nos dejó en Tirana (la capital de Albania). Estaba lloviendo y con nuestras mochilas pesadas y todas nuestras cosas caminamos hasta el lugar donde nos quedamos por 3 días. Ahora todos los demás equipos se unieron a un ministerio para trabajar, servir y apoyar. Pero el ministerio que ibamos ayudar nos cancelo, así que hemos estado haciendo ATL (Pregunte al Señor).  Dios nos llevó a una ciudad llamada Vlore.

Tirana

Ahora en Tirana, un día mi equipo estaba caminando hacia un restaurante pero hubo un desvío, así que pasamos por un callejón. Cuando pasamos por ahí un señor mayor empezó a hablarnos pero no entendíamos, pero yo me quedé atrás tratando de entenderlo y tener una conversación con él. El tipo estaba tratando de ofrecernos cerveza ya que había una cantina frente a nosotros. Hablaba inglés, así que compartimos el evangelio y Jesús con él. El señor termino aceptando a Jesús y oramos por el.

Vlorë

Dios nos llevó a la ciudad de Vlore donde mi equipo DDC pasó cinco semanas.  Encontramos una iglesia bautista a la cual asistimos a todos los servicios y también ayudamos a construir una iglesia evangélica donde conocimos al presidente de todas las iglesias evangélicas en Albania y lo pusimos en contacto con nuestra organización ya que había perdido el contacto.

Durante mi tiempo en Vlore, Dios puso en mi corazón ir a un parque donde muchas personas mayores pasaban su tiempo y jugaban al dominó. Iba a ese parque todos los días a orar. A veces, algunos de los hombres se me acercaban y me hacían preguntas. Muchas veces use el traductor de Google porque no hablaban inglés. Cada vez que les preguntaba si hablaban inglés o español (español) pensaban que era de España. Pero la gente me confundido pensando que soy Sirio o Paquistaní, o Bangladesí o Indio.

Pero pude compartir con ellos mi propósito de estar en Albania. Durante mi tiempo en el parque hice un buen amigo, un hombre que hablaba el mejor inglés del parque. Todos los días en el parque se sentaba a mi lado y hablábamos. También salimos a tomar un café. Todos los días poco a poco le hablaba el evangelio. Tenía una biblia mormona y me la dio y yo le di una Santa Biblia en Albanés. Y estaba tan emocionado por su nueva biblia. En nuestra última semana en Vlore mi nuevo amigo entregó su corazón a Jesús. También le mostré dónde estaba la ubicación de la iglesia bautista a la que asistía mi equipo.

Tuve tantas conversaciones con la gente y explique nuestro propósito y hable sobre por qué creo en Jesús. Hablé con varios musulmanes y me escuchan. Incluso le di a una musulmán un folleto con el evangelio de Juan y la epístola de Romanos. También hablamos vida a un hombre de Utah que estaba en Vlore. Este hombre ha probado todas las religiones y actividades espirituales, pero sigue volviendo a la Biblia y a Jesús, pero su mente no entiende. Con mis compañeros de equipo Banks y Elias pudimos hablar vida y verdad en él. Oramos para que Dios le abra los ojos y lo libere. Mis otros compañeros de equipo Michael, Jaden y Jakson tuvieron varias reuniones con mormones y hablaron la verdad de las Escrituras. Pusieron piedrecitas en sus zapatos.

Tirana

De vuelta en Tirana pude hablar con una musulmana. Le conte mi testimonio y experiencias y de cómo eh experimentado el poder que tiene el nombre de Jesús.  Ella escucho muy atenta y hacia preguntas. Le deje esa piedra que hay poder en el nombre de Jesus.

Elias y yo fuimos a cenar una noche y conocimos a cinco musulmanes y hablamos durante 2 horas y media sobre religión, Biblia, Corán, Jesús, Muhammed, Abraham, etc. Fue una de las mejores conversaciones que he tenido. Pero me di cuenta de que necesito aprender más sobre sus creencias y libro para poder evangelizarlos. Los musulmanes creen en Jesús, pero no como Dios, sino como un profeta.

Evangelizamos las calles, orando y hablando con mendigos. También cualquier persona o grupo que nos hablaba nosotros compartíamos el evangelio y nuestro propósito. También le dimos una Biblia a un musulmán que sabe de su fe, pero pude hacerle preguntas sobre porqué el Corán menciona el Torá y los Evangelios. Aunque mi compañero de equipo Banks conectó y tuvo una buena conversación con él.

Dios me ha enseñado mucho en mi tiempo en Albania. Pero nuestro tiempo ha llegado a su fin.
